THE GROWING BUSINESS OF MEDITATION APPS

The great enthusiasm towards goodness and personal care led to a prosperous marketing for meditation applications. $27 million profit was gained by the leading “self-care” applications in starting 6 months of 2018, reported app intelligence firm Sensor Tower. It moved double time to closing of 2019, with the profits much higher Sensor Tower’s latest data stated that only the first ten top-earning meditation apps of 2019 — a category of “self-care” applications — increased  to $195 million, that is 52% in  just a year.

These apps dominated the personal care app market back in the  year 2018, with applications like 10% Happier, Calm and Headspace compelling earnings. Other self-care applications concentrated on healthy excercises were famous also, but relatively low in the statistics.

$128 million in credit generated by only top 10 meditation applications during 2018, which was a great hike from former years, when the top 10 meditation applications of 2015 only generated  $8 million in revenue.

In last year, the revenue of top self care applications increased to $195 million.

Since 2015 these both apps were at the top of the chart. Calm, which earned $92 million in 2019, and Headspace, which earned $56 million. Both achieved revenues up with every coming  year, as well, at 46% and 33%, respectively.

The profit is also gained from those who tend to find these apps for the first time in addition to active user base. In 2019, 52 million downloaded the top meditation applications for first time, that is 15.6% increase from 2018. Calm and Headspace were also at the top in this case , with 24 million and 13 million recent users in 2019, conjointly.

Self-care is not a top group on the App Store in renowned applications. Rather, these applications are in the “Health & Fitness” department with fitness trackers, calorie counters, exercise apps and others.

But the applications still do great. On Apple’s iOS App Store Calm is the No. 1 “Health & Fitness” app in this category and Headspace is No. 5 currently.

There are many causes of why these applications have become so famous in current years. To some expanse it could be connected to millenary’ style of lives. This analytical chose to marry late and postpone having babies. That got them more time to concentrate on themselves, in comparison with former generations. With the internet access they learned more about wellness and self care.

Moreover, excessive use of internet lead to anxiety and depression. The way we use internet can greatly affect a person’s health other than general use. Self-care applications, and specifically meditation applications, help ease these difficulties. (Even, we must stress, they are not a remedy for mental disease.)
