Okay so I whole heartedly hated Vampire and Werewolf related stories and movies ever since I watched The Twilight and I think all the sensible people out there can relate with my feelings. After watching and being tortured by obsessed Edward Cullen fans my friend suggested me or I must say forced me to watch this series called The Vampire Diaries because she was obsessing over Damon Salvatore.
So in season 2 of The Vampire Diaries, there come two vampire brothers known as The Mikealsons and known to be the Original vampires from which all other vampires in the world are sired. And that was the moment I fell in love with the Vampires AGAIN! And after that, they had their own series named The Originals and is my most favorite series ever (of course after F.R.I.EN.D.S)
The Originals is a spinoff series based on the family known as the most ancient and first vampires of the world that are immortals and can only be killed by a special kind of white oak stake. The Originals is also about the strong bond between two step brothers the Klaus Mikaelson being a one of his kind hybrid of vampire and werewolf and the Elijah Mikaelson giving of gentleman vibes and how seriously they take their oath of “Always and Forever” throughout their story.
In my opinion, The Originals is far more better than The Vampire Diaries. One of the main reason is it’s not a typical love story based series, it’s based on the family bonds and relationships and how the family of the original vampires stands against all the odds that come in their way together. I love that The Originals have the darker vibes but it doesn’t give of ancient boring vibes, it tells the stories about how vampires came into being and how they found their most trusted friend Marcel and story goes on from their.
The show is set in the beautiful city of New Orleans that the Mikaelsons and ancient vampires helped them to create. The first season is all about the how Klaus, Elijah and their sister Rebekah Mikaelson come to know about the Haley Marshal the werewolf is pregnant with Klaus’s child, witches went against the child and Marcel is ruling the French Quarter that Klaus always wanted to rule. Klaus being the big bad short temperament hybrid Elijah always thought that this child Hope will be salvation for Klaus that was true when you see the whole series.
After the Klaus daughter the Hope Mikaelson is born all the story then revolves around her throughout all the seasons with different kind of enemies and challenges in each season such as the Hollow, Dahlia the oldest witch, the Streaks and many more. With Elijah falling in love with mother of the Child of Klaus and long lost sister Freya coming back in action there is a lot going on throughout series and not a single season felt boring.
The season 5 was the finale season for The Originals and BOY WHAT A FINALE! I won’t spoil it for you guys who want to watch but I’m sure you guys will also have tears in your eyes when you see it especially after watching the whole series and getting attached to the characters.
This series is worth watching guys!!!
